🌊 Nusa Dua Adds Coastal Protection Structures, Bukit Peninsula Shoreline Safeguarded
Nusa Dua today announced a longer-term but noteworthy engineering project.
ITDC, which manages The Nusa Dua tourist area, is currently building two groins (jetties) aimed at reducing coastal erosion and protecting the shoreline.
In addition to the coastal protection project, Nusa Dua is also simultaneously working on:
- Road improvements around the Bukit Peninsula
- Waterblow entrance renovations
- Road upgrades on Nusa Dharma Island
- Sewage and rainwater infiltration system upgrades
- Overall environmental improvement of the tourist area
As of the first week of September, overall infrastructure construction progress has reached 58.53%.
This project won’t significantly impact short-term travel itineraries, but if you’re staying in Nusa Dua soon, be aware that some areas may have ongoing construction.
In the long run, the focus of such projects isn’t just about ‘beautifying the scenic area,’ but also includes protecting the coastline, Waterblow, and key tourist facilities like the Bukit Peninsula.
🛣️ Batur–Kintamani Road Has Potholes and Cracks; Repairs Expected to Start by October at the Earliest

Currently, sections of the road from Jalan Batur all the way to Jalan Raya Kintamani have developed potholes and asphalt cracks, especially near Pura Ulun Danu Batur, where visible road damage can be seen.
The good news is that the repair contract for this road has already been tendered and signed, with work expected to begin as early as:
October to November 2026
Construction has begun.
Currently, road conditions in the main tourist area of Kintamani are relatively good, with issues concentrated on certain sections leading into the Batur area. So if you’re heading to Batur by private car soon, you usually don’t need to cancel your trip, but once construction starts, there may be local traffic controls or increased travel time, so it’s worth checking again then.

Bali is still experiencing a relatively dry weather pattern.
BMKG indicates that the dry atmospheric conditions are expected to persist until the end of September, with maximum temperatures also rising in parts of Bali and Nusa Tenggara.
Although we’re nearing October, don’t assume that just because it’s late September, Bali will definitely start raining.
Daytime temperatures can still be quite hot, and the dry weather also raises the risk of forest and land fires. Bali’s BPBD has recorded multiple forest and land fires in the past week.
